Mr. Jollof Claims Burna Boy Turned Down N1 Billion Performance Offer
Nigerian comedian and event organizer, Freedom Okpetoritse Atsepoyi, famously known as Mr Jollof, has alleged that singer Burna Boy turned down a whopping N1 billion offer to perform at a concert organized by him and a group of investors in Warri, Delta State.
According to Mr Jollof, they made an offer of $1 million (equivalent to N1.3 billion) to Burna Boy's team, but it was rejected on the grounds that it fell below the singer's usual performance fee.
Taking to Instagram, the comedian shared the revelation in Pidgin English, stating, "Me and some investors reached out to Burna Boy’s team for a concert in Delta State for One Million US Dollars (N1.3 billion at today’s rate). Guess what? They said it’s too small. Burna Boy no dey Nigeria lane again oo because we didn’t utilise him enough before he was exported to the global music market. No jokes."
This claim has sparked discussions among fans and industry insiders, shedding light on Burna Boy's international stature and his perceived disconnect from the Nigerian music scene.
