"I'm Open to Working with Guardiola at Manchester City, Says Wayne Rooney"

I'm Open to Working with Guardiola at Manchester City

Manchester United icon Wayne Rooney has openly expressed his willingness to join Manchester City under Pep Guardiola's leadership, stating he would eagerly embrace an offer from the club.

At 38 years old, Rooney finds himself currently without a managerial position following his dismissal from Birmingham City in January. Despite this setback, his passion for continuing his coaching career remains undiminished.

Rooney has indicated his readiness to explore different roles within a coaching setup, including the possibility of serving as an assistant manager. In a conversation with Gary Neville on the Overlap podcast, he remarked, "If Pep Guardiola approached me to be his assistant, I would jump at the opportunity!"

Rooney also highlighted the influence of Guardiola's coaching philosophy, citing Mikel Arteta's success at Arsenal as evidence of the impact of learning from Guardiola's methods. He emphasized that his decision would ultimately hinge on the specific circumstances and opportunities presented to him.
